Today we went to the Bellbrook Canoe Rental and kayaked. We swam and my friend
Savanna even ended up losing her shoes underwater in the mud! We ended up jumping off a rope swing and swimming for a little bit. When my group got to an area where the water was calm we took a minute to be silent and listen to the soft sounds around us. It was really relaxing and helped us to come a bit more aware and comfortable with our surroundings. Towards the end a few people in my group began to get nervous that we were lost! We ended up finding our way and finished kayaking safely. When we got back to the school we did yoga to relax after a long day. Today I learned that taking a moment of silence can help you to become more connected to nature, observing through listening is very important to becoming more aware and alert. It helps to not take nature for granted and it helps you to learn to appreciate the world around you more.

To make a river
Take a cool breeze, add the soft smell of water mixed with the light aroma of wet earth
Add the gentle sounds of running water
Mix with a few frogs, turtles, and fish
Mix until a current has formed
Add pebbles and plants to garnish
Finally sit back and enjoy your new river
